It’s November 1st and hunting season has begun. You will see trucks parked along the roads, no trespassing signs on trees and lots and lots of bright safety orange! No matter what your personal opinion is on the matter, it’s important to be respectful of hunters, land owners ,and the safety laws that are in place.
Wearing blaze orange is VITAL when out in the woods are large fields. Avoid white and brown–it’ll make you look like a deer! The orange isn’t just for us people by the way, your pets should be dressed in orange as well. The vast majority of hunters take safety extremely seriously. They are well aware of where and when they can hunt and are respectful of land owners.
Below is a map of our home town Gorham showing the firearm areas that the town has set. Every town will have this and it can be found on the town website. Non-hunters-get out and enjoy the beautiful foliage just wear plenty of orange and be smart where you are. Hunters– Good Luck and here’s to a great season!
